Meet Griffin & Scout

Every great team starts with a little courage, a lot of love, and someone who stays by your side.

Meet Griffin

Griffin is five years old. He is kind, curious, and trying to be brave as he enters foster care.

His world is changing quickly. He is stepping into a new home with unfamiliar faces, new routines, and big feelings that are not always easy to explain.

Sometimes Griffin feels nervous. Sometimes he feels unsure. More than anything, he needs to know that he is safe, cared for, and not facing these changes alone.

Meet Scout

Scout is Griffin’s favorite teddy bear and his most loyal teammate.

He goes where Griffin goes, listens when Griffin is quiet, and stays close when the world feels too big. With his backward hat, soft paws, and patched foot, Scout is more than a stuffed animal.

He is a familiar source of comfort and a reminder that even small things can help us feel brave.

Together, they are a team.

Griffin and Scout remind children that courage does not mean having all the answers or never feeling afraid.

Sometimes courage simply means taking the next step with someone you trust beside you.

You are loved.
You are valued.
You are never alone.

About the Book

With Scout by his side, Griffin faces unfamiliar people, new routines, bedtime worries, and one important question: “Am I really safe here?”
